The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Department at Highland View Academy will be sponsoring a STEMFEST on Sunday, October 15.  The event will be held from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  We are extending the invitation to all students, teachers, and everyone interested.  There will be booths from federal and private STEM organizations.  Our very own HVA STEM Department will have several interactive hands-on activities for children and youth.  A new feature this year will be STEM challenges for groups of students and for individuals.  Prizes will be awarded.  The festival will also feature break-out sessions on exciting cutting-edge, multidisciplinary STEM research.  Break-out presenters include an internationally recognized expert in immunotherapy for cancer, who was instrumental in the clinical development of Prostvac, an experimental prostate cancer vaccine; and a CEO from a non-profit organization that makes 3-D printed hands for children and adults in underserved areas of the world.  Organizations will give away resources, posters, information sheets, and other materials, which teachers, students and homeschoolers may use.    Refreshments will be sold.  This event will have STEM FUN FOR EVERYONE!  Please save the date!
