For our November meeting we're going to learn about one of the coolest tricks mother nature has up her sleeve: bio-luminescence. Serenella Linnares, who teaches mycology courses for the Audubon Naturalist Society in Chevy Chase MD, will be our guest lecturer for this fun topic, so stop thinking about the election results for a few hours, and come join us for a fun(gi) evening.
In addition to learning about mushrooms that brighten up the night, MAWDC vice president Jared Urchek will shed some light on Ganodermas, a popular and well known genus for their medicinal compounds. And as if that weren't plenty already, we're also going to hear from membership chair Rick Silber, and Dr. Shiva Devkota, about the mushrooms of Nepal. This is gonna be quite a show!
We'll be virtual again this month, via Zoom. Here are the login credentials, including passcode should you need it.
