Join MAW in the Laurel Highlands of Southwestern Pennsylvania for our annual trek to the Sequanota conference center and camp, and enjoy a full weekend of mushrooming activities. Subject to availability, this foray is open to mushroom lovers who are not presently MAW members - email 2ndVicePresident@mawdc.org for registration access code.
Weekend forays are a great opportunity to quickly advance your ID skills, get to know other mushroom enthusiasts, and have a lot of fun.
Our guest mycologist this year will be Bill Russell, who is one of the top mycologists in the northeast, and the author of 'Field Guide to Wild Mushrooms of Pennsylvania and the mid-Atlantic', a great beginners field guide that introduced many of us to this fascinating pastime. Bill Russell has been giving mushroom workshops, walks, and talks since 1960, and he is the founder and past president of the Central Pennsylvania Mushroom Society. Bill is a longtime resident of State College, Pennsylvania.
